Vehicle data terminal
Cost effective tailored two-way communication for better results
Whether on the road or in the office, your team needs to stay in touch for optimum efficiency. And you need a cost efficient solution.
The vehicle data terminal (VDT) is a dashboard mounted communications device that is linked directly to your tracking hardware. With two-way communication it helps improve workflow by allowing your team on the road and your team in the office to communicate and exchange information in real-time.
Designed to be simple, quick and easy-to-use, the VDT features one-touch operation and is easily customisable to your businesses particular needs. Through integrating with back end software VDT can help reduce administration by gathering driver hours and feeding that data directly into your payroll system.
How it works
The VDT is a cost effective solution designed for ease of use. The durable VDT unit is attached to the dashboard and links directly into the central tracking hardware to provide real-time communication links between your team on the road and your team in the office. Within a robust casing a menu screen displays information sent from your team in the office and a simple keypad allows the drivers to respond via text message.
The Masternaut Three X VDT offers a robust and cost effective solution for mobile workforce communication.
Through the VDT, key events such as driver login, start and end of day, refuelling and driver hours can be recorded, and drivers can send job progress updates and requests allowing the team in the office to coordinate the schedule step-by-step.
All information is immediately relayed and displayed via your secure web-portal and comprehensive e-mail reports can be generated to present all activity.
With up to eighteen pre-set options the VDT can be easily customised and linked directly to the tachograph and other vehicle sensors to meet every company’s specific requirements.
Depending on your business the VDT texting function could eliminate the need for additional mobile phone use and because the VDT can be centrally disabled whilst the vehicle is in motion you can further ensure driver security and help your adherence with duty of care legislation.
Each driver can have a unique ID code assigned which also provides all the benefits of a driver ID solution including accurate automated payroll based on actual driver working hours without the need for a separate solution.
The chance of unit loss or damage is eliminated because the VDT is designed to be robust and is fitted to the dashboard. And, because of its simple, heavy-duty design there is a significant reduction in the likelihood of theft.
